It's 7:00 as I contemplate a paddle although the fog is so heavy I can hardly see beyond the dock. It's heavy fleece weather or two or three layers of clothes before I venture out. It's 8:15 and I just returned from a 25-minute paddle in the dense fog. It was so dense that I did not venture more than 15 feet from the docks. I assumed it would clear up but never did and my hands were getting cold, so I just gave up and came home,

Yesterday was another chilly day in the '60s with no thoughts of sunbathing on the dock or going for a boat ride. The morning was the same as usual, with kayaking, blog, and breakfast although Tyler was up by 9:00. It must have been the thought of peameal bacon and eggs because that's what he had for breakfast, using a meat thermometer to make sure the slices of peameal were done. Around 10:00, we took off to Lakewood, parked the car, took our bikes off the rack, and went for a modest ride, to Celeron Park and the Lucille Ball statue. and back. Tyler was worried about his knees which bike riding seems to aggravate. We took our time and were out for forty-five minutes, long enough for him to realize that running, not biking was the best way to keep in shape. Too bad because I was looking forward to taking him on different rides around the area. We stopped for coffee at Ryders Cup everyone wore masks except for one guy and no one called him on it. I don't understand some people.

Tyler And Lucy |
When we returned home, Evie had made lunch, a salmon salad, one of my favorites and both Tyler and I devoured it. They then got busy finalizing the shopping list and when I decided to nap, they took off for Wegman's, to fill up the coffers for the week. Evie was looking forward to shopping with Tyler because unlike me, he would be willing to take his time and browse. I am enjoying my novel, Black Swan Green by David Mitchell, the story of a 13-year-old who is bullied because he is different because he stutters. It's always nice to have something you really like to read. The gang returned around 3:00, the car loaded with goodies for the rest of the week. Once everything was unloaded, Evie put things away and Tyler decided to go for a run. While he ran, we relaxed in the quiet of the late afternoon, reading and watching some TV. Tyler was back by 5:00, loved his seven-mile run along Webb/s Trail, which is mostly wooded and follows an abandoned railroad track. We cross country ski it in the winter and I ride my bike on it during the summer and fall. Coincidentally, the trail was being redone with gravel by Chautauqua Rails To Trails and their efforts were put on their Facebook account, with a photo of someone jogging on the new trail...it was Tyler. He's now famous.

We were having Tyler's favorite dinner so once he showered, both he and Evie got busy prepping his fish curry by sauteing cabbage, adding ginger, red curry paste, and garlic, then a couple of cans of coconut milk and letting it simmer, tasting it for taste and spiciness. Once it was just right, Tyler dropped the fish fillets in the sauce and poached them until tender. Meanwhile, Evie microwaved a couple of bags of cauliflower rice and made a salad. Dinner was a Thai feast and this will be a go to meal for Evie and me for sure. Tyler is becoming quite the cook, rarely using a recipe, just experimenting.

Tyler's Fish Curry |
We spent the night once again watching two episodes of American Crime, just as riveting and relevant as ever. The acting is superb as we get pulled into the lives of the victims, the perpetrators, and their families, the pain, the guilt, the complications as nothing is easy or clear.
