A Foggy Seventy Seventh!

A Fierce Looking Osprey

Well, it's 8:45 and the early morning has burned off so that the sun's reflection on the lake makes it difficult to gaze out at the lake.  I had a wonderful paddle, in the fog initially so that I did not dare to cross the lake but stayed on the west side until it lifted.  I was able to photograph both a heron and another osprey so it made my morning along with the beauty of fog on the lake as the sun tries to peek through.

Yesterday was a strange start to the weekend weather-wise.  The sky was filled with threatening clouds most of the day but it never rained.  I was able to get in my paddle, write the blog and enjoy breakfast on the dock before we started to gather the trash.  We decided to not only hit the Transfer Station then drive over to the end of Lakeside Drive so we could walk Long Point.  It was a pleasant day to walk although we were surprised at all the people walking or biking on both the road and the park.  Before Covid 19, we usually had the park to ourselves but no more.  Everyone seems to want to get outside and the park is a perfect place to walk, for both families as well as runners and bikers.

We were home just after noon and Evie made me another juicy quesadilla for lunch and I watched more NBA basketball.  I then read and napped while Evie made a peach pie for dinner, the Nora Ephron one which we love because it has custard as well as peaches.  Yum.  Once the pie was done and the kitchen cleaned up, we wasted the rest of the afternoon.  We showered around 4:00 and then walked over the end of the year picnic for our Woodlawn neighborhood.  For once, just about everyone was there for the twenty-minute meeting to go over any concerns and get the treasury report.  It was fun to see some of the neighbors who live at the other end of the street.

8:02 PM

We returned home around 6:15 and the spent the rest of the day out on the porch, enjoying chips, salsa and a Manhattan (or two).  We sat out until dusk, as it's getting dark earlier and earlier.  We had the leftover dinner from Friday, the chicken, tomato and corn pie and coleslaw and as always, it was just as good.  We watched another episode of Bonus Family and then some news before bed.  Even Evie and I are tired of hearing about Trump calling the military 'losers and suckers.'
