After yesterday's heavy winds much of the day, it's a relief to see a light wind morning. It's 46ยบ and is forecast to be cloudy much of the day. Wow, it's 7:00 and the sun just peaked out from the clouds, filling the yard and living room with its light. It's 9:25 and I just returned from breakfast in Bemus after a 25-minute paddle, a busy morning,

Yesterday was a busy day for both of us. I got in my usual paddle, came home to have breakfast and finished the blog. Evie was up at 7:00 along with me because she had a kindergarten class to attend at 10:30. So both of us were ready to drive off at 9:40, me to yoga and Evie to Southwestern Primary school. She mentioned that the entire class got up from their seats and hugged her when she arrived. I taught for forty-five years and my students never did that! Yoga was just the two of us but I felt much better after class. I stopped at the car wash, then at Hogans and picked up lunch, an Italian hoagie, huge compared to the subs at the other stores. Half was enough for my lunch as I watched another episode of PBS's Ridley.
I finished Blacktop Wasteland by A. B. Cosby and started an older Tana French thriller, Broken Harbor which I hope I have not read! I took a brief nap until Evie returned home, around 2:30 from kindergarten and some shopping. We both relaxed for a bit then Evie powered up the lawn mower and cut the grass, with a few minutes of my help. By the time she was done, she was exhausted and so was I but we were going out to dinner with friends so I showered and we both got cleaned up, ready for fun.
We picked up our neighbors at 6:00 and drove over to the Viking Club, the third or fourth week in a row and it was packed because of the drawing, worth close to 10 grand I would think. We had beers, ordered our dinner, and at 7:00, the drawing was held. They pulled a ticket out of a hat and it was our neighbor Barb's ticket. She then had maybe a one in six chance to win the money but, alas, it was not to be but we had a few minutes of excitement. I had the taco salad which was decent and Evie had the chicken salad with poppy seed dressing. We left for home around 8:30, watched some TV until 9:45 when we both went up to bed. It was a busy but good day.
