6:18 |
It's an overcast morning at 6:45 and 53º, much like yesterday's temperature. It supposedly will stay overcast the rest of the day and no rain is predicted although we could use some. It's 9:20 and I have just returned from breakfast in Bemus after a 25-minute paddle down to Sandy Bottom where I shot a couple of photos of the same eagles as yesterday I assume.

Yesterday was a bit different in that I skipped yoga and instead, had a great hour-and-a-half paddle, and was rewarded with some great shots of eagles. So there was no hurry in the morning to do anything, just relax, get the blog done and have breakfast. One of the reasons I skipped yoga was the fact that our road down to the lake was closed from 6:00 to 10:00 AM. They were putting in a new corrugated pipe for the creek and needed to shut the road down for a few hours. It felt good to relax, read some, get a few things done before an easy lunch, black bean soup, and the last episode of Ridley.
By 12:30, we were driving to Buffalo for a doctor's appointment at 2:00. For some reason, our GPS took us to the wrong destination twice even though he had the right address plugged in. We made it on time, fortunately. We were on our way by 2:30, traffic was light and we were home by 4:00. We were going out to dinner at the Viking Club, again, at 5:30 so we relaxed rather than get something done. We thought our dock might be put in so I stayed behind just in case and Evie went to the club with neighbors. Of course, our dock guy never materialized so I ended up having the leftover chicken curry for dinner and watching the Cavs/Celtics game until Evie returned home around 9:00. We then watched Jeopardy until 9:45 when we both went up to bed, tired from doing nothing other than a brief road trip.
