An Early October Sunrise

7:05

7:55

9:23

It's 7:30 and I have been up since 7:00, trying to sign in to Rite Aid for my COVID-19 vaccination. The lake hasn't a ripple as the sun fills it and our living room. It looks like a great day, in the high 70s if not 80s.  It's 7:50 and as I look out at the lake, there is not a boat in sight, not a sound so I better get out there quick. It's 9:35 as I finish this. I was out paddling for an hour but never saw any eagles or herons, just other paddlers and fishing boats.

Kayak Morning

Kayaking Friends

North Towards Long Point

Yesterday was anticlimactic after the fun Saturday clambake on Lake Erie's shore. The best part was a big breakfast by my brother-in-law Rich who always makes us the best breakfast when we come for an overnight, home fries, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and toast. I was up early, of course, to write the blog and get the photos ready for it. Everyone was up by 9:00 and we had breakfast at 10:00 so we were on our way to Trader Joe's by 10:45. We did a quick run-through because it was so crowded that we could hardly push a cart down an aisle. It was more crowded than most churches on a Sunday morning!

Fall Colors On #86

We headed home by 11:15, stopped for gas at the Ohio border, and were in our TV room watching the Bills game by 2:00. Fortunately, I had it saved so we were able to watch the entire game as the Bills played well, beating the Miami Dolphins. We did not do much during the afternoon other than watch TV and enjoy a glass of wine on our porch at 6:00. Dinner was a couple of Slovenian sausages and an ear of corn, just right. We watched an ER until the start of the Chiefs/Jets game and stuck it out until the end of the first half when we both went up to bed, tired from our great weekend.
