A Beautiful Start To The Day

Evie's New Tee Shirt (not really)
8:57
It's about 9:00 and I just returned from an hour out on the shimmering lake, paddling down to Whitney Bay and back.  It was a fine morning to be on the lake, temperatures in low 60's, and lots of fishermen were out, taking advantage of the summy, cool morning.

Wednesday was shopping day, so after my paddle, writing the blog and making sure the kitchen was bright and shiny, we drove off to the store, stopping first at Walmart to pick up some marine oil for my boat motor and Evie needed to get some painting supplies for some of our outdoor furniture.  We then shopped in a fairly uncrowded Wegman's and were in and out in twenty minutes and home before noon.

Breakfast On The Dock
Evie got busy prepping the furniture and I, of course, was little help, so I had my lunch, a quarter of a sub sandwich from Wegman's and Ham and bean soup from the freezer.  I then took one of those needed naps, where I woke up trying to figure out if it was morning or afternoon.  We then took it easy in the afternoon, having most of the yard work done except for some watering.  Once that was done, it was after 5:00, so we settled down on the front porch with some wine, appetizers, and listened to scores from movies, trying to figure out what movie they were from.  It was a fun way to enjoy the evening before dinner.  Earlier, Evie had put together some chicken and black bean enchiladas, so all she needed to do was heat them up and we had dinner, enchiladas topped with cabbage, taco sauce, and sour cream.  We watched an episode of Off The Grid, Colbert and Better Call Saul, the first episode of Season Five.
