A Brisk 52º Morning

6:44

6:53

It's 9:07 and I have been out kayaking for close to an hour and a half, off to Tom's Point and back, another fine morning to be out on the lake. I ran into Jim just as I was photographing a heron, eagle and hawk in trees, just above me west side of Tom's Point.

Yesterday was a full day, starting with a short paddle, then breakfast in Bemus before heading off to Yin Yoga in Lakewood.  After class, I did a quick run through Wegman's, picking up a few things Evie needed, then was home by noon, in time to meet up with a couple from Corry, PA, who were here to pick up a couch and loveseat Evie had advertised on Facebook. They had a huge trailer, so it was plenty big enough for both pieces of furniture. He brought his wife along to help carry it out to the car but of course, I got pulled into carrying it out. We broke out even, selling these and buying another used sectional.

Once they were on their way, Evie made me lunch, the leftover Korean fries with a couple of eggs. Yum. I sat in our new viewing room, watched my show, then relaxed on the couch and read. Evie, meanwhile, was out on the dock, enjoying the sun while reading. I joined her after my nap but both of us adjourned to the yard because the wind had picked up.

Dinner With Tina And Jim

Around 5:00, we showered and got cleaned up because our friends, Tina and Jim, were picking us up at 6:00 and we were going out to dinner at Colarco's Italian Restaurant, in Westfield, a twenty-five-minute drive north. We had no trouble getting a table although our waitress warned us she was the only one working so we might have to wait. It was not a problem, and we hardly had to wait. We all had some version of pasta and enjoyed getting together somewhere other than kayaking on the lake. We didn't get home until 8:45. We both had a hankering for peaches and ice cream and enjoyed bowls while we watched a couple of episodes of Steve Carell's new series on Hulu, The Patient. To our surprise, each of the first two episodes lasted about twenty minutes, leaving us hanging,  ready for more.
