The Streets Of The Chautauqua Institution

7:27

It's 8:20 and I just returned from a boring 40-minute paddle, as I had little mojo, just wanting to get out on the water for a bit and that was enough.  I think I am getting bored with my morning routine and need a break.

Yesterday was another great day, as the Indian Summer continued.  We love our Sundays for some reason although they are not much different from the other days of the week.  We had a leisurely morning, typical, with kayaking, blog, and breakfast.  We bid our neighbor's goodbye for the winter, sad making, and then drove over to the Chautauqua Institution for a walk.  It was the perfect autumn day for a walk, the colors were at their finest.  I literally snapped a photograph of one street after another they were so picturesque.  We were out for an hour and ran into Linda and Ron just as we finished, just as they began their walk.

We were home just after noon, so Evie fried up some eggs made potato pancakes out of the leftover mashed potatoes and we sat on the front porch enjoying our breakfast, the lake busy with a fishing tournament, unusual for this late in the year.  Evie then took advantage of the sun and I watched some of the Browns game until the channel went blank for some reason.  I then tried to nap to no avail, so I went out and worked on getting things put away in the garage attic for the winter.  It was so pleasant out, so mild, that we decided to take another cruise.  This time, the wind was light and we could enjoy our hour-long cruise, the usual, along the Lakeshore Drive, and back to Woodlawn.

We invited our neighbors, Ken, Marjorie, and their daughter, Jodie for a drink on the front porch since we had not seen them in a while and they will be closing up their cottage and heading home for the winter. It was a fun late afternoon and they stayed until it got dark.

We then had a quick dinner, the leftover barbecued chicken, noodles, and stuffed portabellos mushrooms from Saturday night's dinner.  We watched parts of SNL, the opening hilarious, as they mocked the Vice Presidential Debate.  We then watched two more episodes of Borgen and have only two more to go, alas.  We really enjoy it.
