Gray, Windy, And Flurries

9:11

It's 7:30 on a 29º morning and I have no interest in kayaking. Fortunately, I will be having breakfast in Bemus at 8:00, something to look forward to. The lake is surprisingly calm after a couple of tumultuous days. It's 9:15, still cloudy, still cold but little wind, fortunately. I am back from breakfast in Bemus, a good way to start the day.

Yesterday was a decent day although we did have some wind and snow but nothing too severe. I smartly avoided the lake because of the wind and had breakfast, finished the blog, and was off to yoga by 9:35. The roads were fine despite the light snow and it was cold once again after the crazy high of 50º on Tuesday. Yoga was good, not too demanding for once, and I stopped at Ryder's Cup and talked with Dave, a regular for the first time in weeks. He had been having some health problems, one of the reasons I had not seen him.

I was home by 12:15 and Evie had prepped our dinner of moussaka. For lunch, I heated up the leftover pork ribs, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, just as good as the day we had it for dinner. I watched The Wire and am close to finishing Season Five, with one more season to go. Our afternoons so far this winter have been similar, with reading, watching some TV, and or napping. Evie ordered a new bird feeder, one that hopefully will attract cardinals, so she hung it in our front window.

By 5:00, we relaxed with a glass of wine and were ecstatic to have our wifi and internet back so that we could listen to music and the big news, that Chris Christie was suspending his campaign. His exit speech lambasted Trump as usual and we wish that Haley would do the same. Dinner was great, the best moussaka since sitting in a Greek taverna in Kavala. We watched the final episode of Drops Of God which we would recommend to oenophiles. We ended the night with a couple of episodes of Slow Horses on AppleTV+.
