I slept in till 7:40, a miracle for me, and the sun had already risen, lighting the bedroom. It's warmed up since yesterday's teens, at 26º, and will get warmer as the week goes on. It's amazing how a little sun can change one's mood, making the day seem better.
Sunday we did not do much, once again because of the weather. We received couple more inches of snow and the temperature never did rise above the teens. So it was a good day to hunker down and enjoy the warmth of the house, the view of the falling snow on the lake. We did get a couple of things done in the house, however, and I cannot remember what they were, The morning went quickly and we were enjoying our breakfast of eggs and toast by 12:30 and watched CBS Sunday Mornning.
Evie did not have to worry about dinner because we were going to Linda and Ron's, so we spent the afternoon reading, watching TV, or napping. What else is there to do. I watched quite a bit of basketball for once as March Madness will soon be upon us. My book, Orphan X is getting a bit silly but I will stick with it. We missed our Sunday routine, a walk at the Chautauqua Institution but the snow, wind, and cold was too much.
Sunday Dinner |
We drove in light snow to Linda and Ron's at 6:00 and were happy to enjoy potstickers and a beer for an appetizer. We vowed to avoid talking about our health to no avail although families and Ukraine took second and third place. Dinner was an Asian-inspired eggplant dish, salad, and nice thick pork chops from a friend's pig farm. Dessert was a frozen meringue cake with fresh strawberries and chocolate sauce. It's easy to see why we always enjoy going to Linda's for dinner. We did not get home until 9:00 and ended up watching a new episode of Hometown before bed.
