A Few Clouds As Sun Rises

It's 7:10 and I have been watching the morning sky lighten, having been up since 6:30. The lake's still frozen in front of our house, open in other parts of the lake.  It's 36º and like yesterday, should get up in the 60s.  I think winter is over, dare I say it. And I was surprised that the sun rose so late, at 7:33. 

Yesterday went quickly, as we were up early and Evie had her doctor's appointment at 9:00.  We liked the doctor and the appointment went well.  He wanted a couple of tests before we left so we did not get out of there until noon. Cleveland Clinic is an amazing place, like a small city, crowded with patients from all over the world. It's amazing how health care has grown in the past sixty years to be big business, as the population ages, cures are found, lives are lengthened. 

On The Road Again

On our way home, we realized that a new Trader Joe's had opened in Mentor and debated whether to stop or not.  No debate really as we stopped at a very crowded area on Mentor Avenue. We got off at Center and it took us maybe ten minutes to get there on Johnny Cake Ridge Road.  The store is much larger, more spacious than TJ's on Chagrin Blvd but seems to be similar in what it offers, just not as crowded.  We were out with a hefty bill as usual and stopped at Love's Truck Stopp, at the Oho border for gas. $3.99 a gallon compared to 4:39 in New York State. Evie drove home because I decided to have a Big Mac and it hit the spot.  Nothing like junk food. 

Spring's In The Air

We returned to the lake at 3:30, surprised by the lack of snow as most of it had melted.  It was good, as always to get home and after unpacking, we relaxed until dinner as we were tired from our short trip.  For dinner, Evie roasted a filet of sea trout, then made a salad with it, adding all kinds of goodies besides the fish, like pears, croutons, cashews, mandarins. Yum.  We started a film we did not like, then went back to the regulars, Colbert and Jeopardy, finishing with Severance on AppleTV+ which we don't much like but stuck with it. That was it for the day.
