It's 8:30, the martins are singing, swooping around, gathering straw and grasses for their nests.  I paddled for close to an hour, stopped to talk with Tina and Jim for 15 minutes, and photographed an osprey, high in a pine tree, above Victoria.

Sunday was another warm sunny day although Evie got a lot done inside before her dock time.  I went out for a long kayak paddle and when I returned home, she ripped apart the bed in our spare bedroom, changed the sheets, washed the windows, and pulled the topper off to air outside.  Fortunately, I missed all this although I did help drag the topper outside. Once everything was put back in place and the kitchen cleaned, Evie was ready for a boat ride so we took off, down to Prendergast Point, across to the Viking Club, and back, on a blue sky, puffy cloud afternoon.  It was a good day and time to be out because just as we returned home, the lake seemed to get busy with boaters and fishermen.

We were both hungry so Evie made us our new favorite breakfast, avocado toast topped with a fried egg, healthy and delicious.  Avocado is an amazing fruit although most people treat it like a vegetable. After lunch, Evie went out to the dock to read and enjoy the sun and I stayed inside, read, napped, and watching some basketball as it was too hot and humid outside for me to enjoy, I did join her midafternoon when a breeze picked up, making it pleasant to sit on the dock. Our neighbor's future son-in-law stopped by to drop off kayaks and we spent time with him on our dock catching up on their plans to move.

We stayed out on the dock until 6:30 and fortunately, Evie had prepped and baked our dinner earlier, a Morrocan chicken, so all she had to do was warm it and make the sauce, rice, and salad and we had a new chicken recipe, a sauce made with prunes, shallots and spices, cumin, coriander, paprika, garlic powder, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Yum, We watched the last two episodes of Mare Of Eastown and each episode ended with a surprise, making us want to watch the next episode. The final episode did not disappoint although neither of us was crazy about the series.
