It's 8:50 and I have been out paddling for an hour and fifteen minutes, down to Snug Harbor and back and a fine morning. The weeds are bad down at Whitney Bay even though it's just the beginning of June. It looks like a bad summer for weeds.

Yesterday it rained off and on for much of the day, a total of an inch by this morning. I did paddle in a mist so that was my only exercise of the morning. I hoped to go to yoga but when I went to sign up, class was full, the first time that has ever happened. So I was in no hurry to go anywhere, helped Evie in the kitchen some before driving off to get a few things at Tractor Supply, where you can find almost anything you don't need, like another tarp on sale just in case. For Evie, it was a good day to work inside, change beds and get laundry done that had been piling up because she was always working out in the garden.
Lunch was great, the leftover stir fry and I watched more basketball because Luka Doncic was playing for Dallas; he scored forty-some points in their win, an amazing Slovenian. The rest of the afternoon we both wasted, either reading on the couch, napping, or watching something on TV, wishing it weren't raining outside.

We left at 6:00 for our neighbors' house, Pat and Dave, after showering and putting on our Thursday best. They live four doors away so we walked even though it was wet. We sat on their porch with a glass of wine and appetizer,s entertained by their Westy, Olive, who took to Evie. She is delightful, full of energy and loves attention. For dinner, Pat made a special mac n cheese to go along with baked cod and a salad, a tasty dinner. I had seconds of the Man N Cheese it was so good. It was good to catch up with them, their life in Houston this past year. We stayed until 9:30 and walked home on a dark but dry night, ready for a few minutes of TV and bed.
