It's 8:00 and three of us are up. I was up at 6:30 and just got back from a forty-minute paddle, on a partly cloudy morning. with the sun occasionally breaking through, lighting up the lake. Today, Marisa flies home to Dallas, alas, and it's the last full day all the family is here.

Yesterday was a fun day, as we enjoyed our morning, afternoon, and evening. The morning was typical until 11:00, we everyone got up at different times although, by 10:00, everyone was down because Evie was making a huge batch of buttermilk pancakes and Beth was frying up the last of the pea meal bacon as well as regular bacon. I even skipped my healthy breakfast of yogurt, berries, and granola to enjoy the pancakes and bacon. Yum. By 11:00, we piled into three cars and drove to the Chautauqua Institution. Admission is free on Sundays so the three drivers, dropped the gang off at the entrance and parked our cars in East Jesus, about a ten-minute walk from the gate. Because of the Salman Rushdie stabbing last summer, we have to show driver's licenses just to get on the grounds to get a pass. They were having an Art Show on Bestor Plaza and it was fun to browse the pottery, jewelry, woven rugs, paintings, etc. Some of us walked as well but by 1:30, we had enough and headed home.

Lunch was a favorite, Slovenian sausage from Azmans Meats in Euclid. Everyone loves them, with mustard or horseradish. Once lunch was done, it was back to hanging on the dock, in the yard, on the porch, just enjoying the afternoon. Unfortunately, we were short on ice, beer, and stuff for dinner tonight, so Drew, Jill, and I hit a busy Wegmans's once more, then Evans Liquor, before arriving back around 3:00. By 4:30, everyone was making some kind of exotic drink, with tequila, bourbon, or something else, getting ready for group photos at 5:30, a tradition that goes way back. Our neighbor, David, came over to be the photographer and then we took individual photos of families.

We then relaxed on the porch or lawn until 6:30 when ten of us cruised over to Bemus Point Casino for wings and five of us drove. Wings at the Casino is another tradition that everyone looks forward to and we were not disappointed. Fifteen of us devoured close to a hundred wings, along with french fries and five or six pitchers of beer. After filling up on wings and beer, we walked down to the Bemus Grocery store and everyone ordered ice cream, again part of wing night.

We were by 9:00 and instead of a movie, eight of us, all the young uns, played Telefunky, a game all learned from my Mom and a game we always play at least once during the summer. The rest were on their phones and went up to bed early as the game lasted until almost 11:00, to end another busy but fun day.
