Easter Sunday

A Majestic Bald Eagle

7:05

The Sun has risen this morning at 7:00, lighting up the lake, sky, and yard on a brilliant Sunday/Easter morning on Chautauqua Lake. It's 9:30 and I just returned from a gorgeous morning on the lake, paddling over to Tom's Point and back along the shoreline. It was sunny going, blue skies, and lake kayaking back home.

Saturday was Evie's kind of day, a crispness in the air with lots of warming sunshine. My day started early, around 6:30, and later, with an hour paddle returning after 9:00. We knew we wanted to get in a hike so around 10:30 after Evie had finished throwing out expired pantry items, I gathered the trash, drove to the Transfer Station, then on to Lakeside Drive. We then walked the trails of Long Point State Park, then out to the tip of Long Point and back, taking us an hour and a half. It was a good choice for a walk, and a few colors are beginning to show.

We were home by 1:00, time for lunch of the last of the pork schnitzel on bread, with tomatoes and mayo, I watched my show, The Night Agent on Netflix. We were both pooped out from our walk so we were happy, once again, to have little we had to do in the afternoon. I am enjoying my book, L. A. Outlaws by T. Jefferson Parker.  And when I was tired of it, I napped. We also watched some of the Masters before wine time. It seemed a shame to stay inside but neither of us had the mojo to do something.

Dinner was fish tacos, breaded cod fish cooked in the air fryer, with all the fixings, a tzatziki sauce, cabbage, and radishes. It was a healthy, tasty dinner, perfect for a Saturday night. We decided to watch and old chestnut from 1947, The Best Years Of Our Lives. It's dated but worth watching, despite the drama, especially the annoying soundtrack. The idea, of soldiers' adjustment to domestic life after the war, was apt and relevant to today. Back then, there was no such thing as PTSD, and men were told to 'buck up.' We ended the night with another ER.
