Another Post Card Morning

6:52

7:12

It's 6:15, the sun just rose, filling the yard and our living room with its light, not a ripple on the lake and a few lazy clouds greet the morning.  It's surprisingly chilly, 48º, but it will get up into the 70s later in the day like yesterday It's 8:00 as we finish this, and I have been up for close to an hour. I spotted and photographed the same juvenile bald eagle in the same tree for the past three days.

Kayak Morning

Looking East

My Friend

For whatever reason, we did not get as much done yesterday as we wanted. Both of us were tuckered out by the afternoon for some reason.  I had my usual Tuesday, a nice long paddle, then breakfast and the blog, before I was off to yoga at 9:10. After class, I made a quick run into Home Depot and Wegmans before coming home.  While I was out, Evie was working on a Shutterfly book, a compilation of photos from our summers of 2020 and 2021. We have close to 15 albums of photos of our summers with our kids, at least seven are from Shutterfly, They are an amazing look back at a week of summer fun and watching our grandchildren change and grow up. It's a tour of nostalgia and heartbreaking as they have grown up too fast.

For lunch, I had the leftover pasta with mushrooms and sausage and watched the penultimate episode of The Sopranos so I will be searching for a new series to watch at lunchtime soon.  Evie was off to get her hair trimmed at Jaret's, then did a marathon of shopping at Wegman's, stocking up on items because the prices are rising so quickly (coffee from six to ten dollars a tin), and things for summer. She arrived home with the car groaning with bags and a three hundred dollar bill. Wowzer! I helped unload and put things away.

By 5:00, Evie was ready for a Zoom call with her sisters.  We then sat out on the dock with a glass of wine and enjoyed the quiet and calm of late afternoon until it was time to make dinner, sauteed mushrooms, a porterhouse steak, and salad. We continue to struggle with finding something to watch although the last episode of one of our favorite series on FX, Better Things, was moving but sad as we have watched the three sisters grow up over the past six seasons. We ended the night with Jeopardy and another series we don't think we will stick with, Shining Girls, with Elizabeth Moss.
