A Chilly Morning.

A Proud Family

A Master's In Engineering From the University Of Texas, Austin

I was up at 6:00, just as the sun was rising over Long Point on a 46º morning. What a difference from Saturday's 86º. I am glad I didn't put away my fleeces. It will probably be partly cloudy today but no rain forecast until Thursday, if then. It's 8:30, Evie's up and I paddled for an hour, to Sandy Bottom, across to Long Point, and home.

Sunday, like today, was chilly, in the 50s during the afternoon but it felt colder than that.  We were tempted to turn on the fireplace. I was up early and out on the lake by 7:00, paddling for close to 90 minutes. Evie was up when I returned and after breakfast and the blog, I helped with a few things in the kitchen and left her to begin prepping for our Sunday dinner and went for a bike ride in Mayville. Just as I started, the sky darkened and threatened rain but I was able to get in my ride on Sea Lion and the Mayville walk before it began to spit.  Despite the dark clouds it never did rain other than an occasional raindrop.

A Bald Eagle At Sandy Bottom

We had our big breakfast at 12:30 and watched another amazingly good CBS Sunday Morning, with an emphasis on Santa Barbara, CA. and Design. The rest of the afternoon went quickly, either prepping dinner for Evie, doing some dishes for me, or watching TV, reading, or napping, the usual. Neither of us did anything outside and were happy to stay cozy inside.

Linda and Ron arrived at 6:00 and it was too cold to sit out on our porch, so we had our beers and brie with blue cheese in the living room until dinner. We had our once-a-year ham dinner, with sweet-sour green beans, a salad, and an underdone potato, leek, and cream casserole. None of us could figure out why the potatoes were not tender, Despite the casserole, dinner was fine, especially the ham from Wegman's. We finished the night in the living room with Junior's cheesecake, with blueberries and raspberries.  All of us are looking forward to the week as Linda's niece from California is coming for a week and our granddaughter Marisa will be here on Thursday for close to a week.  Linda and Ron left around 9:45 and we did up most of the dishes before winding down.
