The Gang's All Here

Happy To Be Together Again

Our Grandson Nick And Bride To Be, Aundraya

It's 7:27 and I am the only up, at least sitting in the hotel coffee shop, as the sun begins to rise above the highrises on a 70º morning here in the Country Club Plaza, a section of Kansas City, known for its Mexican flavored architecture, shops, restaurants, fountains, and hotels. It's now 8:20 and I have been sitting here for a good hour with my son-in-law, Rami, talking about cameras, hard drives, and photoshopping programs.

 Kansas City Arrival

We had an easy five-plus hour drive but it seemed forever because we could not wait to get to KC to see our family. The drive was much nicer than the day before, with blue skies, farmlands turning green and the highway often rimmed by the pink/purple of the Eastern redbud.

Three Of Seven Grands

Cousins, Some To Be

We arrived at the hotel at 2:30, parked our car in the basement, checked in as Beth's family arrived. Others were already checked in to so we had a mini reunion as we checked in.  Jill organized a gathering at an OysterBar just around the corner from our hotel, so all of us, spent a good hour and half there before returning to get ready to go to the rehearsal dinner at Cafe Trio. Friends and family from both sides were there, a total of forty three, as we enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and getting to know the bride and grooms family.

We stayed  until 9:30 before heading back to the hotel and enjoying a nightcap or two at the rooftop bar. All the kids were there as well as adults so it was fun because the bar was crowded with others from another wedding party.

We were home by 11:00 and literally fell into bed, tired from our drive and fun.  We cannot wait till tonight's wedding and reception.
