It's another miserable lake morning, with heavy wind and either rain or sleet projected for the rest of the day. Where went Spring? I assume one-day things will change drastically and May temperatures will be in the 80s, perhaps 90s and we will be wishing for cold weather. It's just 8:00 and I was out for a half-hour, cut short because of the wind, choppy lake and it started to snow. I saw a couple of ospreys but it was too bouncy in the kayak to photograph them.

Yesterday was just about the same as today's forecast, with heavy winds and sleet, sometimes snow. I did not kayak because of the windy conditions, alas. After the blog and breakfast, we got a few things done, mostly getting things ready for our trip but by 10:00 I was off to the Subaru dealer to get an oil change/tire rotation/check-up, making sure all is ship shape for our drive to Kansas City. They were also able to install a new tailgate motor which had been on order for months. While they worked, I walked the Riverside trail from the dealer to Mc Crea's Point and back, in a bitter wind, passing on a couple of dog walkers. It was a bit over two miles and I was out for fifty minutes. My car was ready by noon and I was home, enjoying a lunch of a chicken salad sandwich and black bean soup by 12:30.

Evie left just as I got home as she had errands both in Mayville and Jamestown. She was gone for a couple of hours, returning home in sleet and heavy winds, a miserable day to drive. While she was gone, I watched some TV, the Sopranos and basketball, and finished my novel, The Expats, then had the pleasure of trying to find something new to read, always a chore lately.

Snow In The Afternoon |
When Evie returned, we relaxed in the living room, listening to the gloomy news until it was time to make dinner. In what seemed like a half-hour or less, Evie put together our dinner of lamb curry, with apples, bananas and cream, made rice, and a salad. We watched the last two episodes of Anatomy Of A Scandal, with a ridiculous, abrupt ending but it was worth watching nevertheless. We ended the night with Jeopardy and started a series on Prime called The Outlaws which we think we are going to enjoy.
