Wet Snow, White Morning

7:27

8:12

I was up way too early, 5:30, and have been listening to Morning Joe until I became fed up with it and switched to Bill Simmons on the NFL playoffs, much more pleasurable.  It was pitch black when I got up, but now it's a blanket of whiteness, as I am unable to make out either Long Point or Tom's Point because of the falling snow.  We probably got four or five inches so it is time to get out the snow shovel and clear the driveway.  We have snow predicted for the next couple of days (8 to 16 inches) so I will be a busy boy.  It's 9:20 as we finish the blog and I have already got out and shoveled the parking area.

We had a good Sunday for the most part and like most households, our day was filled with too much football.  We had our typical Sunday morning, listening to Jake and Fareed on CNN as we finished the blog and our coffee.  We decided to go for our usual Sunday walk and drove to the Chautauqua Institution, hoping that despite the wet snow, the streets were safe, devoid of ice. Fortunately, the streets were fine, mostly wet snow and we walked a couple of miles in occasional snow.  We then drove to Tops to pick up a couple of things and were home by 12:30. We had a good breakfast, the Turkish omelet called a menemen, with tomatoes, feta cheese, and eggs.  We watched CBS Sunday morning and then I fell asleep reading, tired from a bad night.

Thunder Bridge Of Course

By 3:00, we were primed for the Browns/Chiefs game.  We are Browns fans, our son Tom a Chiefs fan so we had fun sending him a video of us Woofing It Up for the Browns.  To be honest, we also are Chiefs fans so we had mixed emotions about the game, happy if either team won.  The Chiefs pulled it out in a close game.  We were happy the Chiefs won because a Cleveland victory would have been tainted because Mahomie, the KC quarterback, went out with a concussion.

Around 5:30, it was pleasant to turn off the TV and relax in the living room with a glass of wine and listen to the news on CNN.  For dinner, both of us were hankering for hotdogs and beans for some reason, perhaps because it was quick and easy.  Around 7:00. Evie fried up the dogs, heated up the beans and we were happy to enjoy our dinner, with chips and a Pepsi.  We watched Real Time With Bill Maher, back after a couple of months hiatus.  He interviewed Kellyanne Conway and as usual, it is impossible to shut her up. You have to admire how she never answers the question and dominates the conversation with her agenda,  O, well, three more days and it's history.  We then watched a couple of episodes of Better Things before getting back to football for a half-hour until we had enough and ended the night with a Hometown.
