Twelve More Days

10:55

It's a strange morning because I am finishing this up at 11:00.  I had an early test at the hospital at 7:00, then I stopped at Wegman's for a prescription and did not get home till a half-hour ago, a fun morning.

Thursday was a day of recovery, from the craziness of Wednesday, the storming of the Capitol by domestic terrorists, the certifying of Joe Biden as President, finally.  We spent a good part of the day listening to the news or watching it on television, as the world, the press, the Congressmen, reacted to Wednesday's events.  Only Fox News seemed to mitigate the outrageousness of the events, even blaming it on Antifa, their go-to bad guys. They will never change.  Interestingly, the conservative Wall Street Journal, called for Trump to resign,  Both Fox News and The Wall Street Journal are owned by Rupert Murdoch.  They better get their stories straight.

Trail In White

We did get in a walk around Long Point 11:00, doing something radical, walking our route in the opposite direction.  What a revelation to see everything from a different point of view.  Why did it take us years to think of it?  Routine? Habit? Comfort? Anyways, we were out over an hour on a chilly, but bracing morning and we felt lucky to be outside in the woods.

Bemus Bay

We did not get home until 12:30 and it was time for a quesadilla lunch and my series, Deadwood.  We had a leisurely afternoon after our walk, not worrying about doing much because we got in our walk. I finally found a book I am enjoying, Ann Cleeves Raven Black.  I read until I fell asleep, nothing new.  We watched more of the news than usual as the pundits went crazy about what should be done with Trump.  Probably nothing, just let him go quietly, with his tail between his legs.

Evie made a great dinner, a risotto with garlic, wine, cheese, and shallots, topped with shrimp. and spinach.  We feasted on it with a salad and watched more of the news, some Jeopardy, and started a series on Hulu called The Looming Tower, about the failure of the CIA to predict 9/11, based on a book of the same day.  It's not great but we may stick with it.
