I was up at 6;45, earlier than usual, to a quiet morning, a few ducks floating by, leaves falling, and an occasional honk of a goose. It's 54º and a few clouds hanging over Bemus Bay. It's 8:50 and I paddled for a half hour listening to a podcast called New Heights, with the Kelce brothers. I was not too impressed although they have a huge following.

Tuesday was a good day, in fact, most days are good. It started with a 50-minute paddle since I was skipping yoga class. Evie was up by 8:00, showered, and getting ready for a benefit luncheon sponsored by Americcorp, for senior volunteers. It was thirty-five minutes away at Front Porch Farm in Cassadaga, NY. While she was gone, I decided to tidy up the house, so I finished up the kitchen, then swept both porches, and did some vacuuming, in other words, did the 'good husband' act. For lunch, I made tuna sandwiches and watched the first episode of Ridley on PBS.
I left for the eye doctor at 12:30, dropping off my bike to get it tuned up, and the tire fixed. I then returned a package at Michaels, bought a flannel shirt for Evie and flannel pjs for myself at T,.J. Maxx (both will be returned today), and then went to the eye doctor. My one eye has been bothering me. He told me it was just a sagging eyelid, typical as you get older. If I wanted it modified, I would need surgery and it takes 6-9 months to get scheduled. I will pass. After getting my glasses adjusted, I stopped at Aldis and picked up a few things for dinner.

Americorp Luncheon |
When I returned, Evie regaled me with her luncheon at Front Porch Farm. They had a great buffet, speeches, thanking the volunteers, and drawings. Evie won a gift certificate to Portage Pie, then Gerber daisies. Everyone received a pin to wear and a notebook with a pen. It was a really nice affair with about forty people attending. We sat out in the sideyard reading, enjoying the afternoon sun. By 4:00, however, I decided to mulch the front yard covered with leaves. That took me about a half hour.

While I was mulching, Evie was putting together our Japanese chicken curry dinner. At 5:00 she had a Zoom call with her sisters. After the call, we relaxed with a glass of wine until dinner at 6:30. The curry over rice was as delicious as the salad. We watched a film on Netflix called Woman Of The Hour. The premise, a woman meets a serial killer on the TV show The Dating Game, sounded silly even though it was based on fact but we ended up liking it. We then watched The Daily Show and Jon Stewart interviewed Tim Walz and we were both impressed by him. We ended the night with some NBA.
