A bright, sunny morning, a calm lake, and 50º begins the week on the lake. I had another great paddle for 35 minutes on a quiet, empty lake and shot a bald eagle, in Jim and Tina's tree. It's now 9:30 as we finish this up.

Bald Eagle |
Sunday was another day of getting a few things done and watching too much football. I did get in a good paddle, and photographed two different herons which is rare this time of the year. When I returned, we finished the blog and I went outside and did a few things to get ready for the winter. By 10:30, we were on our way to take our usual walk around the Chautauqua Institution and it was a beautiful fall day for a walk. We are so lucky to have this available 43 weeks a year.

Lovely Walking Paths |
We were home by 12:30, Evie made breakfast, eggs, and tomatoes on toast, and I watched the first half of the Bills game before returning to my book and taking a brief nap. Around 3:00, I watched the second half of the Bills win, then went outside and moved more summer things into our neighbor's garage who are nice enough to let us use whatever room is left. We watched the first half of the Chiefs game although Evie missed some for taking a shower and getting ready for our dinner.

Sunday With Linda And Ron |
We arrived at Linda and Ron's house at 6:00, opened a bottle of wine and enjoyed a delicious brie with blue cheese while sitting around their kitchen table. Dinner was a French meatloaf, mashed cauliflower, and a salad, all delicious. We stayed until 9:15 and drove home, keeping our eyes open for a deer. Evie went to bed but I stayed up and watched the last quarter of the WNBA championship game won over time by New York.
