Once again, we are fogged in and I am going to have to wait to kayak until the fog clears some. The car windows are also frozen on a 37º morning. And, just a moment ago, duck hunters blasted away off of Tom's Point. It's after 9:00 and I paddled in fog, down to Sandy Bottom and back, hugging the shoreline in case I ran into any duck hunters.

Yesterday's Red Tail Hawk |
Yesterday was a good day for both of us. First, I left for breakfast at 8:00 in Bemus, not getting home until after 9:00. Evie left for her kindergarten class at 9:30 and I decided to take advantage of the fog beginning to lift and kayaked for forty-five minutes on a striking morning of clouds, fog, and sun. When I returned home, I relaxed for a bit, mounted my bike on the Outback, drove over to Bemus, parked my car, and rode through Bemus, along Lakeside Drive, then around Long Point State Part to Long Point and home. It was a beautiful day for a ride, with leaves changing colors and covering the path. Interestingly, I met nary a soul on my ride, no hikers, no dog walkers on such an amazing morning.

I didn't get home until 1:00 and made a toasted cheese sandwich with mayo instead of butter and heated up the last of the cauliflower soup. I watched another episode of Dark Skies, happy to be finally finished with Justified. I then read some in my book, Nuclear War, the napped briefly. Evie didn't get home until 3:30, having stayed later at shool and a quick shop at Wegmans. We relaxed some but I got antsy and went out and worked on putting more things in the garage attic, then went for a half-hour walk though our woods, to finish my trifecta, of biking, kayaking, and hiking. It felt good to feel energetic.

Moon Rising |
We relaxed at 5:00, listening to the news, sometimes optimistic, other times depressing. No one knows who will become the next President although all the pundits have changing predictions depending on the day or week. Around 6:00, Evie put together our dinner, mushroom, and meatball sauce over spaghetti. It hit the spot. We watched Colbert, Bargain Block, and more of the news, and continued to watch 15-20 minutes of one of Evie's favorites, Sense and Sensibility.
