A Touch Of Blue Sky And Sun

7:42

8:54

It's 8:30 when I start this and although it may be wet outside, I can see some blue sky, some sun, and even some mist rising off the lake towards the reeds. I got up later than usual, 7:30 so I have not yet been out on the lake. It's after 10:00 as I finish this, having paddled on a perfect morning, down beyond Magnolia to Whitney Bay and back, the sun bright, the sky blue, the lake calm.

Finished Hunting For The Day

Yesterday was a rainy day for the most part but we made the most of it. So after my morning paddle, and blog, and breakfast, we were in no hurry since we were going to the Peterson Farms Open House at 11:00 in Greenhurtst. Evie helped gather up the trash and by 11:15, we dropped off the trash at the Transfer Center and drove to Petersons. The parking lot was full as were both sides of the street with cars but we luckily found a spot. We then browsed their veggies and gift area before getting in the food line for a dab of Swedish specialties like Korv, lingonberry sauce, marinated herring, meatballs, pea soup, and rotmost, a combination of rutabaga and mashed potatoes,   We left with cookies and veggies and had enough to eat that neither of us needed lunch.

We then drove to Long Point State Park marina and walked out to the tip of Long Point and back, the only ones in the park. It was a dreary walk but we liked it and were protected from the drizzle by the trees.

Hiking With Evie Joy

We were home by 1:30, in time for me to have a bolw of Evie's lentil soup and start watching some college football. I did not have much interest so I ended up reading and napping as usual as did Evie. We had planned on going to Jamestown's Christmas parade but by 5:30 it was raining and the fog was so heavy we could hardly see out our front winds so we decided to stay home, alas. Neither of us have ever seen the fog so heavy on the lake. So we ended up with a typical Saturday night, drinks and appetizers and music, an easy dinner of hot dogs and beans, then the usual TV, HGTV, Diners, Drives Ins and Dives, and football.
