Blue Skies And Sun For A Bit

5:43
The sun is up, the sky mostly blue, as the lake begins to show some wrinkles as the wind picks up.  It's a chilly 42º but will get up into the '60s later in the day.  I am finishing writing this first draft at 6:30 and it's beginning to cloud up, so I had better get out on the lake sooner rather than later.

Kayak Morning

A Pair Of Spotted Sandpipers
Yesterday was another fine day, not too warm, great for working outside or for a paddle.  So I began with a paddle before heading to Lakewood for a yoga class with Julie.  And there were three guys, a record for the Eight Limbs Yoga Studio.  Since Evie was going out later in the day, I had no need to go to Wegman's but did a quick stop at Walmart to pick up a few items.  When I returned home, Evie was halfway through cutting both our neighbors and our yard.  She's making up for missing the mowing last fall when her back was bothering her.

For lunch, I had the leftover ham and scalloped potatoes, then watched Bosch as Evie readied for a long afternoon, getting her hair touched up at Jaret's, which takes a couple of hours, then doing some major shopping at Wegman's, with a stop at Brigiotta's Nursery to check out plants.  Needless to say, she did not get home until 5:00, bushed from her busy morning and afternoon.  I got in some reading, a nap and woke to hear our helpful friend, Austin, putting together some Adirondack chairs we ordered from Costco, then fixing the faucet in our downstairs bathroom.  He's quite a kid, works quickly and knows how to fix almost anything, do anything.  I lugged the chairs out on to the dock and got some things done in the yard before going in around 4:30 and watching the end of the Golden State/Portland NBA game, which Golden State won in overtime.

When Evie returned, I washed up some potatoes and put them in the oven to bake as Evie put away the groceries.  We relaxed with a glass of wine for an hour, then Evie made a salad, roasted some asparagus, and cut up the rotisserie chicken for our dinner.  She was famished from her day and really enjoyed our dinner.  We watched Jeopardy, of course, some Colbert, finishing the evening with cheesecake topped with red raspberries. Yum.  We also raced through the last season of Rake, not up to the previous season's standards, alas.  So now we must find a new series to watch.
