Calm And Quiet

A great morning sunrise, a few clouds, a calm lake, and not much action.  I paddled for forty-five boring minutes, nothing to photograph so I just enjoyed the flow, the routine of paddling which is not so bad.

Kayak Morning

We had an easy morning, not much going on, other than the usual, paddling, blog, and breakfast.  We were leaving for another doctor's appointment at 12:30  in Ashtabula which tends to ruin the day.  They never seem to end these days.  The good news is that we were on our way home in an hour and stopped at Love's Truck Stop to fill up on cheap Ohio gas and get a root beer before heading back home.

We stopped in Stedman for corn and were home around 4:30. It was another fine night on the lake so we sat out on the dock with a glass of wine until it was time to start dinner.  Evie made garlic spinach, rice, and a salad while the salmon was in the oven.  We were not only looking forward to dinner but also to finishing the series, Stateless.  Dinner was good, what else and the series matched it with its intensity and focus on the plight of not only the illegal immigrants but the men and women who are their guard them.  It's worth watching and ended with this tragic statistic:

"The world is witnessing the highest levels of displacement on record. An unprecedented 70.8 million people around the world have been forced from home by conflict and persecution at the end of 2018. Among them are nearly 30 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18."

Along with global warming, this displacement of people will change the world, for better or worse, depending on how we deal with them.
