Too Early A Morning

8:00
I woke up at 5:40 and could not get back to sleep, so I got up, turned on the coffee, grabbed a blanket and tried to sleep on the couch to no avail.  So up I got, grabbed my camera and began taking photos of the changing morning sky after getting a cup of coffee.  I have been listening to Morning Joe, which seems at a loss since Trump is on vacation and they are having a hard time finding something to talk about other than Trump's latest tweets.  Is anything else going on in the world besides Trump tweets?

Yesterday was the first day of our getting back into routine, habit, rut, whatever you want to call it.  I was up early, too lazy to kayak and went off to my Yin Yoga class at 9:00, without my daughter Beth, alas, as she was home in Texas.  Class on Monday is always crowded but I was there early enough to find a spot.  After class, I finally got rid of a couple of bags full of redeemable cans and plastic, ten dollars worth!  Many other residents must have had the same idea as there were four or five others, waiting to return their cans for money and there were six or seven kids, sorting and adding up the bill.
A good way to start the week, yoga and make a little money.

When I got home, Evie had been working some in the garden but was also continuing to catch up on the wash from the previous weeks, keeping the machines going.  I had tuna on a bagel for lunch and watched another episode of OZARK since Evie's not interested in watching it.  The rest of the afternoon was spent outside for Evie, continuing to work in the garden but specifically, she was digging up Jerusalem artichoke plants,  some five or six feet tall, to take over to our friends, Ron and Linda, who are in need of landscaping for their new house and along Clear Creek which borders the back of their house.  I started working on the borders along our house which tend to get overgrown and weed invested.  Around 3:30, Evie went off to do some shopping and get her hair trimmed in Lakewood, not returning until 5:30.

We both took quick showers as we were going to dinner at Linda and Ron's new house, an inaugural in a sense to their home.  We came bearing gifts, belated birthday presents, two tee shirts from the Viking Club and a tub of Irish butter for Ron. Fabulous presents!  We also brought a house warming gift, a Morris Chair which we have never been able to use but it will fit in nicely in their living room.

Kitchen Sisters
Loving Her New Kitchen
We sat out on their porch, enjoying the view of the lake, sipping our beers.  Evie and Linda went in to get dinner ready in their bright new kitchen while Ron and I grilled the lamb chops on their back porch.

A  Brand New Dining Room
We ate around their old dining room table in their new dining room and it felt strange at first since we were used to their old house but soon we were comfortable and would never want to go back. Dinner was great, lamb chops, eggplant and pasta side, salad, and rolls.

We had not seen each other for three weeks because both of us had families visiting, so we had lots to talk about, mostly though, how great their new home was.  They are taking their time putting it together, hanging pictures, putting stuff away, which is smart.  And they have lots of work to do outside, clearing brush and weeds, planting shrubs, things like that.  But it feels like home already. We stayed until after 10:00, a record for Ron and me as we start yawning around 9:30.

We drove home on a relatively quiet night on #394, just like the winter.  We were both tired from the day and our great meal, so we went to bed early.
