It's a brilliantly sunny morning, the lake a sheet of white with the sun's reflection. I had a bad night because I couldn't get the debate, especially Trump, out of my mind. He is so disgusting, bombastic, lying, and despicable. There, I said it. I tried everything but nothing worked so I got up. It's 9:30 and I paddled for 50 minutes, my usual paddle along Woodlawn, across to Long Point, back to Sandy Bottom and home.

Yesterday was a busy day, especially in the morning. I paddled, then enjoyed my breakfast, peach crisp with yogurt and Evie was up early because she had kindergarten. I left for yoga at 9:00 and Evie for school at 9:30. My class was interesting because it was different. My yoga teacher was taking a class line and experimented on us. After class, I had a few errands, first getting my Covid shot at Rite Aide. Then, I stopped at Walmart to pick up computer paper, envelopes, and a sandwich for lunch, I ended the day getting my car washed and filling up the Outback with gas. It was a productive morning.
Lunch was easy, my sub sandwich and I watched my series. Afterward, I started a new book, The Peacock And The Sparrow, set in Bahrain in 2012. When I woke from my nap, Evie was home and relaxing. Neither of us did much the rest of the afternoon. I was a bit off, perhaps a result of my Covid vaccination. Evie had a Zoom call with her sisters at 5:00 and by 6:30, we were enjoying the last of the Greek Lemon Chicken and rice. We were sick of the pre-debate coverage so we watched two more episodes of The Perfect Couple on Netflix and have two more to go before we find out who murdered the maid of honor. With some trepidation, we then watched the debate. Kamala rose to the occasion, and Trump was interrupting, lying, unhinged and defensive. We both were critical of the moderators who let Trump interrupt time and again and go over the time limit. He's such a verbal anarchist and bully that he's hard to reign in. We stayed up until the end, around 10:40, and listened to the pundits discuss the debate. The most interesting response was from conservative Chris Wallace who thought Kamala 'pitched a shutout,' destroying Trump. Will it make a difference? I doubt it.
