Windy And Wild

7:31

7:37

7:38

The winds are blowing this morning, the flag flapping, the lake rough so I will not be out kayaking for the third day in a row,  Also, there's a drizzle and we will have rain on and off most of the day.  The only surprise, it's 55º compared to yesterday's 37º when I woke up.

Thursday was another one of those days where we felt displaced from our house our living room, like the previous week when the new flooring was being laid.  Yesterday it was carpet cleaners who arrived around 10:00, just as I was about to start a yoga class.  So we had the early morning to ourselves, coffee, breakfast, and the blog before we had to get ready for their arrival, moving some things that might get broken.  I was away for most of the cleaning, inshallah, at a yoga class.  And I stopped at Sav A Lot, to put off getting home to the rug cleaning. They were gone by 1:00 but we were not supposed to walk on the carpet, leaving us the kitchen and the second floor to enjoy the rest of the day.  So we asked them for some footies, the kind they wear in operating rooms so we could at least walk carefully and as little as possible in the TV room. So I was able to enjoy lunch, the leftover chili and sweet potatoes and watch another episode of Foyle's War before deciding to go upstairs to read and nap since the living room was off-limits.

For some reason, neither of us wanted to go for a walk despite the fact we were not allowed to enjoy our living room. I guess we were just either depressed at another day of this crap or we were just tired from doing nothing, which happens a lot lately.  So we spent the afternoon either gingerly walking around the TV room or upstairs on our bed.  We had planned on going out for dinner but getting ready seemed like too much to ask, so we figured out an easy dinner, eggs, potatoes, and breakfast sausage.

So by 6:30, the eggs and sausage were fried, potatoes baked and the salad made and we were enjoying all of it while watching the first episode of the series, American Rust.  Unfortunately, I read the novel a couple of months ago so I know what's going on but it is interesting to see what they add, what they leave out, and how they narrate the story. We decided to skip the usuals, Colbert and Jeopardy, and watched an episode and The Great English Baking Show.
