First Cruise Of Spring

Lake Cruise
5:59
6:10
9:05
It's 8:35, starting to cloud up and get windy although when I started out for my paddle around 7:00, there was not a ripple on the lake.  I ran into our neighbors, Tina and Jim, out like me for an early morning paddle.  I kayaked over to Warner Bay, then to Long Point, across to Wells Bay and home, just over an hour.

Kayak Morning
Yesterday was the finest day of Spring so far, a flawless lake, blue skies and lots of sun.  It looked as if anyone who had a boat was out for a cruise.  Early on during my paddle, all I could hear were bass boats, racing up and down the lake.  After my paddle, we were quick to have breakfast because we wanted to get out on the lake in case it got windy later in the day.  So I took the cover off the boat, Evie brought towels in case it was cold, and we cruised down to Bemus Point, to the Casino, which has yet to open, at least there were no boats docked.  We then skimmed along Lakeside Drive, as one dock after another seemed to be going in as it was a perfect day for outdoor work.

When we returned, Evie wanted to get out on the dock and enjoy the sun, so she quickly made me a couple of chicken salad sandwiches and was gone, to enjoy the sun. and read on the dock.  I enjoyed my lunch, a nice change from a sub, and watched my show.  I was in no hurry to get out on the dock, so I took the trash to a busy Transfer Station then came home and read some and napped.  I then joined Evie on the dock for a while, vacuumed the boat and cleaned up the vinyl seats.

Spring Sky
Around 4:00, Evie had enough of the glorious lake view,  so she fired up the lawnmower and cut our lawn.  It looks like a putting green, lush and healthy.  We decided to grab a beer when she was done and go for another boat ride as the lake seemed calm.  We were surprised, however, when we got out in the middle and headed north, at the wind and chop.  When we turned around, headed back, it was easy going, warm and calm as the wind was at our back.  We were out for a half hour, just right.  While I tied up the boat and put on the cover, Evie started our dinner, burgers and Bob Evans Mac N Cheese.  We both wanted burgers so it was a good choice and the Mac N Cheese was a nice, easy side.

We watched Lebron James Foundations's Graduation Special, with brief talks from both Lebron and President Obama.  How nice to hear someone articulate, civil, and kind. with good advice for the graduates.  We ended the night with an episode Off The Grid, Dead To Me, and Cheers.  What a great day on the lake.  We are so fortunate and grateful,  especially when we think of the millions, if not billions of people who are struggling with poverty, lack of housing, the essentials, and now Covid 19.
