Calm After 36 Hours Of Wind

5:36

6:03
7:14
It's 7:40 and I am sitting in the yard, waiting for the tree guys and its perfect timing as they just backed into our parking area.  At the moment, he's climbing up the tree, the chainsaw roaring, waking up the neighborhood.

Chopping Down A Willow Branch
I was out on the lake by 6:30, up at 5:30, because I wanted to be back in time for the Amish guys.  It was a good paddle, over to Long Point on an exquisite lake morning, not a ripple or stir.  I was the only one out that early, my lake.

Goslings Times Twelve
Yesterday was another windy day but we did not let it stop us from being outside.  I got in a decent paddle despite the wind and came home happy, having photographed an osprey.  We finished the blog, Evie showered and we were off to Wegman's for our once a week shopping.  I dropped her off at Wegman's and went to Home Depot to pick up a few things to get our swimming area and dock ready for summer. Once I finished at Home Depot, I joined Evie at Wegman's and by the time we were finished, we had two carts full.  Check out went slowly because they had a rookie cashier who had no idea how to pack so it took longer than usual.

Wegman's Ready
We were home by 12:15 in time to share part of Danny's Special sub from Wegmans.  I watched my show, read some, took a very brief nap, then thought about doing something outside but thought better of it and let Evie work outside.  I finally joined her and did some yard work and watering around 3:30 and cleaned up both porches and did the dishes. While I was busy, Evie was giving our lawn a shearing so that it looked amazing.   I came in around 4:45 and practiced yoga for forty-five minutes, while Evie enjoyed resting outside in the sun, playing Words With Friends.

Man In Red
At 6:00, for the first time in maybe seven weeks, we saw Linda and Ron.  They came over with their own beer, glasses, and appetizers, and we sat on the porch, keeping safe distances, and caught up on all that we have been doing the past seven weeks...nothing.  They are doing well, being very careful like us and this was the first time they have gotten together with friends.  We hope to do it more, the same way.  It was great to see them, reinforcing, however, how much we miss friends like them.

They left around 7:30 and Evie quickly put together our dinner, cutting up the rotisserie chicken, making coleslaw, and serving potatoes that had been in the oven while we socialized.  We watched Colbert, then an episode of Better Call Saul before bedtime.  We were both exhausted from working outside and partying.
