Pink Skies And Duck Hunters

Well, it's later than usual when I start my blog, at 9:25 and I just returned from a forty-five-minute paddle down to the Whitney Bay and back. Unfortunately, I only photographed a gaggle of Canadian Geese in flight, probably close to a hundred were feeding on the water until I chased them off.  And I heard numerous shotgun blasts early, mostly from across the lake and down towards Tom's Point so I kayaked up the lake, towards Snugs but also paddled by a hunter set back on the shore of the campground.

Kayak Morning

Canadian Geese In Flight
Yesterday was different as we drove to Buffalo for an appointment at noon.  I did get in a paddle to start the day which was a highlight.  We decided since we were in Buffalo, to make a day of it, or at least part of a day, so we did some sightseeing and shopping after the appointment and ended up at a huge Wegman's in Amherst to Evie's delight. We had a late lunch there, did some shopping for the weekend and drove home via Cassadaga where we picked up dinner, wonton soup and a couple of stir-fries from JoJo's Asian,

We were more than happy to be home by 5:00 after spending a good part of the day on the road since it's at least an hour and a half to Buffalo from here.  We were both exhausted from our day and shopping will always do it.  We had enough energy to relax with a glass of wine before heating up our dinner.  The soup was great, the stirfries, mediocre, unfortunately.  It's difficult to get good Asian food in this area.  We watched a good Colbert, then we watched more of Succession, hoping we would get into it to no avail but we will marshall on to Season Two which is supposed to be good.  We still dislike everyone in the series making us wonder why would you make a series where everyone is despicable.
