A White Weekend On The Lake

7:32

8:35
I was up at 6:20, sleeping in I guess and waited for the lake, the yard, to turn white.  And now, at 8:00, whiteness reigns, on the lake, yard, trees, even bushes.  This is why we love winter and wish it would stay for a couple of more weeks without a melt down.  It's cold, 16º, mostly gray but we may have some sun later in the day.

They Are Back Out On The Lake
We had a Friday of constant snow fall, never heavy, just lazy snow flakes, falling much of the day. Before driving to yoga, I cleaned off both cars, something I have had to do almost every day this week.  There were only five of us in yoga, many discouraged by the snow I assume. I came out of class to more snow falling, stopped at Ryder's and drove home in snow although the roads were fine. When I got home, Evie wanted to either cross country ski or workout.  Because it was snowing and we love skiing during a snow fall, we put on our skis and attempted to ski in the neighborhood and campground.  We did not make it much beyond the campground because the road was either icy or bare from the snow plows, making it not much fun.  And it was surprisingly cold, so that Evie's fingers were frozen by the time we returned home, a dismal attempt to ski.

Cross country skiing Woodlawn (trying)
Despite our discouraging skiing, Evie had enough energy to make BLT's for lunch, to  go with her vegetable soup.  BLT's...what a great invention.  As is bacon.  I watched another half of Wallander and Evie, wanting to get some exercise, drove to the gym and had a fun workout the music propelling her for an hour.  She did not get home until 4:30.  I was out in the yard, shoveling our parking areas, again, keeping up with things.  Evie mentioned that roads were snow covered and cars were going very slow, which led to our cancelling our night out for a fish fry at the Rod and Gun.  It wasn't that much of a disaster because we love having cocktail hour when it snows and it snowed until 7:30 when we had dinner.  Evie was able to take some amazing photographs of the night snow.

Peaceful

Snowy Night
Earlier,  Evie had gotten out some of her frozen, homemade meatballs, added some pasta sauce and we had an easy and good dinner.  We watched another episode of BROADCHURCH but struggled for some reason to understand what they were saying, always a problem with British TV.  Why can't they speak English!

In his own words:  “The world is in trouble, but we’re gonna straighten it out, OK? That’s what I do, I fix things.”
