It's 7:00 and I have been up since 6:15, a chilly morning, a high of in the 40's later in the day. Lots of slashes of gray and rose over the lake, as the sun has yet to rise. Because of the cold, all of the homes in our neighborhood still have snow on there roofs. The skies are clearing later today and we should actually have some sun.
Yesterday was a bizarre morning, as I woke up to a green lawn but by the time I left for yoga at 9:10, we had about two inches of snow, the roads were bad and I had to drive slowly to yoga. There were numerous accidents according to WJTN, with people hurrying off to work. It was good to get back to yoga after a three day hiatus. Just five of us, lots of work on hamstrings. What else is there? After class, I was in no hurry to get home to work (help Evie with the painting), so I stopped at Ryders for a coffee, then went to the mall, to Bon Ton's, and picked up three cool shirts, all either 70 or 80% off the sale price, the only time of the year to buy winter clothes. I got home around noon when we got a call from Jamestown Mattress, saying they would be by in 15 minutes with our mattress which necessitated a quick rearranging of things. They had quite a bit of moving before bringing in our new King Size, what I call musical beds. Anyways, they were happy to help move two other mattresses before bringing in our new King. And they were willing to take away our old mattress and headboard. Now we have two Kings, a Queen, and two double beds, ready for the week in the summer when we have all our kids and grand kids.

I had leftover ham and scalloped potatoes for lunch, and we watched the The Daily Show. Evie has been busy painting trim and our folding doors, roughing surfaces, so that Barb will have less to do when she gets here on Monday. I am not completely useless, so I did do some roughing up of the trim, and I have more to do today, though I cannot keep up with Evie who seems a tad obsessed.

Around 5:00, Evie put together our dinner, chicken picata, rice and garlic spinach, and I helped, the sous chef and dish washer. We then relaxed in the living room at dusk, with a glass of wine, Evie enjoying the luxury of sitting down after a day of painting. Dinner was great, of course, and the chicken picata was extra special because we used Meyer lemons from our Myer Lemon Tree, a tree our daughter Beth gave us at least ten years ago. We bring it in the house in the winter, take it out for the summer and fall. We watched Better Call Saul, which we are liking more and more, then started a new Netflix series called Bloodline, a family saga filled with disgusting people, few having any redeeming qualities except for the parents, played by Sissy Spacek and Sam Shepard. We went upstairs to our new mattress at 10:30 with some trepidation but we both slept pretty well. Keeping our fingers crossed it's the right choice.
