It's 7:50 and we are both basking in the sunshine of a chilly 27º morning. It was a pink sky morning early, the sky light blue and cloudless, the sunrise spectacular around 7:30. A good morning to sit around, drink coffee, listen to the depressing, scary news and decide to kayak. I was out on a chilly morning for 50 minutes, paddling down to Wells Bay and back, photographing a few buffleheads as the sun began to warm my back, a great way to start my morning quarantine.

Yesterday was different, no yoga or stopping for coffee at Ryders Cup. I had an appointment with a dermatologist at 11:15 so I left early and stopped at Wegman's, to see if the shelves were empty. The produce aisle was fine, lots of salad stuff, the refrigerated area where you might get Bob Evans Mac N cheese was empty. I waited just ten minutes at the doctor's office, had a quick body scan and I was on my way home.
Evie was busy when I walked in, making Santa Fe Chicken, a dish good for a couple of nights, perhaps a lunch. I had my gruel of spicy dal for lunch, still tasty and watched Narcos. Evie felt like getting out so she called Steener's Irish Pub, ordered two corned beef and cabbage dinners and drove to Greenhurst to pick them up. Bill Steener and his wife were grateful that she ordered dinners and picked them up. They are obviously very worried, not only about their business but also about the staff of 12 that they employ.
While Evie was gone, I read and napped briefly, then cleaned up the kitchen just before Evie returned home. The afternoon seemed long and boring, waiting for wine time and the corned beef and cabbage dinner. I could have kayaked but it just wasn't calm enough and the sky was overcast. We had our wine time at 5:30 and around 6:30 we heated up our dinners in the microwave and settled down in the TV room to enjoy our Irish dinner along with a Guinness stout. It was decent, not great but we felt good about supporting a local restaurant. We watched the news, happy to hear Joe was doing well in all three states and wondering if Bernie really would put beating Trump first and suspend his primary.
We then watched an old Colbert and a couple of more episodes of The Americans before it was 10:00, time to go read some before falling asleep, hoping for a good night without crazy dreams.
A Quotation From Humorist Andy Borowitz:
"Using taxpayer money to provide food, healthcare, guaranteed income, and all the other things people are in dire need of right now. There's a word for this system: socialism. Let's keep that in mind the next time politicians act like it's a dirty word."
