Overcast And More Snow

6:30

It's 7:25 and I have been up for an hour, to a gray and gray morning, the temperature just above freezing, with one to three inches of snow expected this morning.  Because of the clouds, there was basically no sunrise, just a tinge of pink above the gray horizon.

Yesterday was not much fun for either of us.  Evie had an appointment in Erie's Tri-State Pain Institute for an epidural, to see if it would relieve some of her back pain.  So we headed into Erie at 9:00, a forty-five minute ride.  They took her in at 10:00 so I drove off to the Mall, did a quick walk through TJ Maxx, bought a cup of coffee at Starbucks and headed back to the clinic.  I waited a few minutes before Evie came out, a bit shaken understandably by the procedure but hopeful it would work.  Because she was a good girl, we stopped at the Peach Street Krispy Kremes on the way home and bought a few doughnuts for later.

Evie spent the rest of the day reclining on the couch, relaxing and avoiding doing much of anything for at least twenty-four hours.  So I was the aide and cook and bottle washer.  Lunch and dinner were both easy.  For lunch, I grilled some Sahleen hot dogs, Evie's vegetable soup from the freezer, an easy lunch with Ball Park Mustard.  We both either read or watched the neverending news the rest of the afternoon, Evie occasionally napping, resting from her ordeal.

Leonard And Davis' Abodes

Victoria
Around 4:00, I drove over to Bemus Point, the lake open from the bridge to the Casino and walked Lakeside Drive for close to an hour, a gray late afternoon with a cold wind and took a couple of photos as you can see of Woodlawn and Victoria during my walk.  When I got home, we both decided to partake of a glass of wine, as Evie was feeling a bit better.  In fact, for dinner, she decided to get up and do something and made herself an omelette for dinner.  I warmed up the leftover pork, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes and it was just as good as the night before.  We had the Krispy Kremes for dessert and I can see why we called them 'sinkers' in college, as they just seem to sit in your stomach.  I suggest enjoying them earlier in the day.  We got caught up on a couple of series, Homeland and Divorce, watched another episode of THE KILLERS before going up to bed early, tired from a tough day.
