Morning Blue

7:53

8:02

8:11

It's 7:30, the gray sky has been brushed aside by white clouds and some blue sky on a 15º morning.  The brightness of it all is exhilarating,  the lake a brilliant white.  I count five ice fishermen out this morning as we have had twenty straight days of weather good enough for ice fishing or cross country skiing,  Amazing Grace.

Among The Snow Capped Pines

Wednesday was a day of contrasts between our morning and the rest of the day.  I was up at a decent time and enjoyed the morning, in no hurry to get busy.  Around 9:30, I spent a half-hour practicing Yoga With Adrienne, attempting to be a good boy.  We were both inspired by the weather, snow and cold, so we decided our best bet for the morning was to go to Long Point State Park.  It was a good choice because of the beauty of the trails, the trees frosted with white, the absence of wind.  I skied and Evie snowshoed. We met a couple of skiers, a couple snowshoeing but that was it.

The Path Well Travelled

We were home by 12:30 and listened to the beginning of the Impeachment hearings on the way home.  I had black bean soup and the last of the hoagie for lunch, the third day in a row but I am not complaining.  I am about finished with my series, the killer obvious, the police on his trail. It's taken a while. The rest of the afternoon was spent either watching the Impeachment, reading, napping, or on our devices, looking for something interesting.  I regret not going back out to ski late afternoon but by the time I thought of it, it was too dark.

Dinner was easy, just heat up the leftover meatloaf and pull the Wegman's mashed potatoes out of the refrigerator, and microwave it.  We watched the Impeachment hearings until it ended around 8:30 and if you watched the compelling final hour or two, it was made clear that the President was excited, even happy that the Capitol was being stormed by his supporters. There is no way that anyone watching could argue his innocence, that he should not be impeached,  He did nothing to stop the storming of the Capitol.  His silence endangered the lives of all the Congressmen, especially Pence and Pelosi who were singled out.  And when he did tweet, he called the insurgents 'patriots and told them that he loved 'them. People attempting to kill Congressmen are patriots and loved:  It's unbelievable that anyone would vote to not impeach.  We then watched Colbert and Better Things to end the night, still upset by the criminal lies, delight, and silence, the dereliction of duty,  by the President during the siege.
