It's 7:50 and I have been up since 6:00. We received maybe three inches of snow, quite a contrast to Binghamton's three feet, a four-hour drive east.  It's 24º and we had a dab of orange off to the southeast at sunrise.  Now, however, all is gray except for the white yard.

Wednesday was another day where we hunkered down, not getting outside for a walk because of the wind, light rain or snow, and gray skies. We did not mind it as it was cozy in our house, a contrast to the cold outside.  Around noon, I drove to Mayville and picked up a sub and some vegetables at the Lighthouse Grocery, my only venture out.  Lunch, then, was half a sub and another episode of my show.  I finished my book, The Bear, after lunch; it was surprisingly short, and started a new one, Monogamy, which I am not sure I like but will stick with it. 

A Dusting Of Snow

The afternoon dragged some because of a lack of options, mostly staying in the house looking for something to do, searching for a recipe for Evie, reading, and searching for our next series to watch on TV for me. We planned on getting wings from Steelers Pub for dinner but the snow and icy roads started around 4:30 so Evie pulled the turkey soup out of the freezer and bacon so we could have BLT's and soup for dinner. We had a pleasant happy hour with a glass or two of wine, listening to the news if that's what it's called.  

At 6:00, Evie fried up the bacon, heated the soup, and made our BLT's.  We watched Colbert, then started a series we had started a month or two ago but stopped because it was no longer available on HBO.  Now it is on and we rewatched the first two episodes of Watchman.  It's described as "an American dystopia superhero drama based on a 1986 DC comic series of the same title." It also received numerous Emmy nominations and awards. We ended the night with another quirky Midnight Diner.  It seems the filmmaker looks for the most bizarre characters and plops them in the diner.  Last night it was a famous male porn star, in previous episodes,  a transvestite and a famous singer.
