A Barely Visible Bevy Of Hunkering Swans |
It's 8:30 and Evie and I got up around 8:00, both having slept in some. We needed it. It's a blizzardy morning, with our front yard filled with white fluff and close to 75 trumpeter swans swimming. I can just about see out to the end of where our dock would be because of the fog. And the lake is turning to jelly, mushy, the step just before it freezes. It's nice and cosy in here even though we are once again snow bound because of the snow. We will have dig out later or get Shane to do it for us. I'm certainly not up to it.

Full Feeders |
Not much to say about yesterday. I spent the day coughing on and off, mostly on, taking Advil, using tons of Kleenex, reading, napping, drinking liquids Evie would bring and eating. I hardly made it off the couch, other than to get a change of scenery. So I am still not feeling too chipper.

Finch Up Close |
Evie, meanwhile, keeps busy making good things, taking care of me, trying to make sure she does not overdue it. She's at her best early, so chicken bones were simmering and a pork loin was marinating, by 10:00 in the morning. She also spent a good part of the day working on Christmas cards on the FELT app which she loves. You can hand write a note on your computer on to a card and they send it for you. And of course, she took lots of pictures at our bird feeder.

The Snow Fall Begins Around 10:00 PM |
So once Evie had the pork loin done, dinner was easy. Make a pan sauce, put the pork slices in it, reheat the mashed potatoes, blanch broccoli and make a salad and we had a good dinner, with homemade cookies for dessert. We watched a Danish movie, THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES, by Josie Adler-Olsen. It's based on his novel which I have read. It was decent, not great but I am looking forward to the next film on Netflix.
It's 9:30 as I finish and I sit here warm and cosy, listening to the whooping of the swans.
