Early Morning Rain

6:41
7:00
It's  7:45 and it's been raining almost constantly since I got up just before 6:00.  And we need it, no doubt.  It's still sticky, humid, and warm, 72º.  The showers should end later this morning, return tomorrow afternoon if you believe the weatherman.  Right now, the sky is still a heavy, dark gray, the lake, too, as if we are going to get more rain.

Yesterday matched the day before and the day before, hot, humid, with yoga in the morning, taking it easy in the afternoon, trying to avoid the heat.  Yoga was crowded as always on Thursday, so it pays to get there early.  Afterwards, I drove to Home Depot and picked up three or four different handles for our pantry, hoping one of them works.  When I got home, Evie was out in the water again, clearing our swimming area of weeds.  Hopefully, it will make a difference next year, especially if she gets the roots out as well.  Standing in the water was the only cool place to be if you were outside.  I stayed in, had lunch of egg salad sandwiches and soup, finished my book, GUILTY MINDS by Joseph Finder.  It's a thriller, revolving around a Supreme Court Justice who is about to be defamed until fixer, Nick Heller steps in and saves the day.

Showers, Late Afternoon
Late afternoon, I ventured out long enough to gather the weeds up off the dock and take the up the hill to a compost pile.  We then both watched the weather report, as thunderstorms were moving in so we decided to have our wine and cheese on the front porch, watching the lake change as the black clouds moved in, the thunder followed the lightning, and it poured, even puddling our yard.  We love sitting out on porch as it storms as long as it's not too windy or severe.  It wasn't, at least where we were.

Dinner was a carbon copy of Tuesday, leftover pork chops and twice baked potatoes, just as good as Tuesday night.  We could not make up our mind what to watch, whether to start a series, so we ended up channel surfing, from news shows to Stephen Colbert or James Corden.  Finally, we had enough and went up to bed early, before 11:00.

It's now almost 8:00 and I hoped to go out kayaking but the sky still looks threatening and the wind has picked up.  Yoga later will have to do.  So much for that...It  cleared up enough to get a good paddle in before leaving for yoga at 9:10.

Paddling at 8:15
