Up just before 7:00, to a heavy cloud cover, gray skies and a slate gray lake, something I better get used to.  It's 45º out and it should stay in the 40's and 50's for the rest of the week.  Spring weather although late in the week, they forecast the possibility of snow.

Sign Of Spring

Yesterday was a crisp, fall like day, some sun, some clouds, an occasional light drizzle.  We were worried about rain early so we went to walk the Chautauqua Institution around 10:00.  It was perfect weather for walking, just cold enough to need a fleece but not a hat or gloves.  We did the usual loop, admiring various homes, seeing things we hadn't noticed over the past 35 years of walking in the CI. The work continues readying the Amphitheater for its demolition and rebuilding, mostly getting the infrastructure and roads ready for next falls large, heavy equipment.

A Huge Breakfast

We didn't get home until after 12:00, and it was time for a great breakfast.  Evie quickly cut up some baked potatoes, fried them with onions, then the bacon, leftover asparagus and eggs.  With a toasted baguette, we were both happy.  We watched CBS Sunday Morning, a depressing hour on Guns In America.  The take away: we love our guns, always have, and no one is going to take them away.  Get used to it. Depressing.  Afterwards, Evie quickly readied dinner, getting chicken breasts ready to be stuffed with garlic spinach and basically dinner was ready for last evening.

We then relaxed, watched some TV, read until we both wanted some exercise so we went out and worked in the yard, raking, cleaning up the debris, get last falls leaves out of the bushes.  I ended up with a couple of garbage cans of twigs, small branches, and leaves.  Around 5:30, we enjoyed a glass of wine, no Manhattans or baguette and blue cheese, alas, but it was still nice to enjoy the late afternoon, early evening, still light because of DST.

Dinner was the stuffed chicken breasts, with a salad, and broccoli, all great and we put off watching HOUSE OF CARDS until 9:00, a mistake because after watching the penultimate episode, we had to finish it off, staying up till 11:15.  All I can say about the series is wait until you get to the last two episodes. WOW.  We cannot wait until next season.
