More Gray, Clouds, Fog, Rain

Up to a dark living room at 6:20, no sense of a sunrise, just the sound of the drip of water from the gutters.  It's a mild 45º and now, at 7:50, it's Chautauqua gray (skies), on gray (lake). I have to admit it's strange to wake up to a wrinkled lake, not a snow or ice covered one.  Not much of a day to look forward to, just clouds and rain.

Finch-ing

Yesterday was a typical Monday, not much different from the past ten Mondays of the new year, yoga at 9:30, energizing and fun, then the question whether to get a coffee or not.  I did not.  When I got home, Evie was ready for a trip to the YMCA, where she was going to get some instruction on how to use the various nautilus machines.  So I was 'home alone', most of the afternoon, to do as I wish.  I made myself a tomato/cream cheese bagel for lunch, microwaved some homemade vegetable soup and watched some Sports Center, as I still am not into any series.  I have tried a couple like TREME or DEADWOOD, but have not stuck with them.  For some reason, perhaps because of DST, I had little energy, wanting only to lay down on the couch  which I did much of the afternoon and read and napped on and off until Evie got home.  The instructor had to cancel lessons on the machines but not was all lost since Evie got in her cardio workout.

Unlike me, couch bound, she quickly got busy slicing, breading and browning eggplant slices, getting our dinner ready, eggplant hoagies with cheese, pasta sauce, and mozzarella cheese.  She put them together, wrapped them in tin foil, ready to be heated in the oven.  Around 5:00, I got enough mojo back, to rise from the couch and share a glass of wine with Evie, as we waited for dinner.  Around 6:30, Evie put together a salad, heated the sandwiches and we had dinner.  By the way, the sandwiches were amazing, making us wonder why we don't make them more often.  Eggplant is a perfect substitute for meat, tasty and meat like when fried and stacked on a sandwich.

We finally watched a DVD which had been sitting in our TV room for a few days, the Academy Award Nominated ROOM.  We both liked it enough to recommend.  Brie Larson won the Academy Award for Best Actress but the young boy who played her son stole the film.  He was amazingly real, full of five year old emotions, from tantrums, to hugs, to tears.  We ended the night with the most recent episods of BILLIONS.  It looks like Bobby Axelrod is going down, taken down by U. S. Attorney's officials, just as corrupt as him.  There's not much to like in this series about Hedge Fund moguls and corrupt District Attorneys.

Tonight promises to be exciting.  Will Drumpf corral the Republican nomination by winning Ohio, or will Kasich stave off the inevitable by defeating him.  And if Drumpf does lose Ohio, will the Republican party unify around a Stop Drumpf candidate like Kasich, angering Drumpf's base?  This question will keep the pundits busy for the next couple of weeks.
