Let the summer begin! I was sitting in my living room, when suddenly, at 7:00 sharp, bass boat after bass boat careened around the corner of Long Point State park, and raced off to find their sweet spots. I had no idea there were tournaments this early. Now it's quiet and calm, as they have disappeared either up or down the lake. It's cooler than yesterday, 39º, rain and winds forecast for the day. I guess sunrise was the only sun we will get today.
A funny thing happened yesterday morning in yoga class. As usual, there were few of us, and a new student, obviously one of the Millennials, which was clear from the TWO smart phones he placed on his yoga mat before class. During class, he would occasionally check his phone, even type a reply. Needless to say, when it came time for savasana, the relaxation period at the end of class, he got up and left, too busy to spend time on his back relaxing. It was quite humorous and the four of us had a good laugh after class. We wondered if he will be back.

Finch, With Sun Flower Seed In His Beak |
Around noon I dragged the trash to my car, drove off to the Transfer Station, garbage cans in tow, emptied them in various pods, some for paper, others for metal or plastic, my Saturday routine here at the lake. When I returned, the sun appeared so Evie and I took our folding chairs and fishing rods out to our dock, settled in to fish when it clouded up, the wind picked up and it started to rain. So, we gathered up our rods and chairs, returned to the house for the rest of the day, though the sun would occasionally peak out of the clouds. For lunch, I had vegetable soup (it's lasted all week), and I made toast with avocado and tomatoes, then watched another episode of True Detective while Evie drove in to Lakewood to workout at the YMCA.
I read much of the afternoon because of the weather. Evie returned around 4:00 and we decided to have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, so Evie put together the meatballs, browned them, then baked them, and I helped by cleaning up the mess. Then we relaxed with a glass of wine, some triple cream brie with blue cheese, and enjoyed the late afternoon, dinner basically done. And just before the sun set, the sky darkened, it began to hail and rain, briefly, before clearing up again. A strange day of weather.

A Stormy Afternoon |
We had the spaghetti with mushrooms and meatballs, with a salad, around 7:00, then watched some TV hoping to stay up for the correspondent's dinner which, unfortunately, did not get under way until about 10:30, with Obama's talk, followed by that of a comedian. We were too tired to stay up so we saved it and will watch it tonight. We have enjoyed the speeches over the years, Stephen Colbert's being the most remembered, for crossing the line.
