Swans Still A Swimming |
A Gaggle of Trumpeter Swans |
We did not do much during the afternoon, watched some football and basketball, read and about 3:30 I went for a forty five minute walk through the campground, to get some aerobic exercise in before dark. I wore a pair of running shoes in which my son in law, Drew, had screwed cleats, to make it easy and safer walking on the icy roads and walk ways. They worked really well. He made them for himself when he would run up Pikes Peak in Colorado, not quite the same purpose as mine but both are effective.
A Lonely Pine on Kinney's Upper Open Field |
Around 5:00, our neighbors, Bud and Debi Kinney stopped over to say hi. We had them in for a beer and since neither one of us had plans. we decided to go to the Rod and Gun for dinner since they had never been there. We had a great time, the bar and dining room crowded and lively though we got a table within fifteen minutes. The Kinney's had just bought a sail boat from a sailor on Long Island, so they were very excited about the purchase. We had a great time talking with them, as Bud and Debi always have great stories to tell, and we find out, as we get to know each other, that we have more and more in common. Our neighbors here at the lake are great people.
We got home around 9:15, just right. I watched about a half hour of the Packers game, then went up stairs to read till 11:00, when we went to be.
Not much on the agenda for today, either a walk at the CI or perhaps a workout for Evie at the Lakewood YMCA. Tomorrow we have asked our old friends, Sam and Donna Nelson for dinner, which should fun so we have to get ready for that. The lake and Bemus shore are beginning to appear, as it's 7:28, still gray and threatening. Time to get moving, to get off the couch, to avoid sitting, my new mantra.
