It's 9:20, and I have been up since 7:00. I got in a good hour of paddling before returning home. Evie was up and said Austin was coming over to trim our hedges—the parts I cannot reach. He's a great kid, worked for about 15 minutes, and was on his way to his next job.

Yesterday was a bore because I took it easy after my fall. Evie took good care of me, making me a big breakfast before we both drove to the Transfer Station to get rid of our trash. We then drove to Celeron's Fire Station, hoping to get my bike, but it was closed up—at least, we could not find a door open. On the way home, we stopped at Evans and picked up a couple of boxes of wine.

Lunch was lentil soup and egg rolls, and I watched a Netflix series called Quarterback. They follow four NFL quarterbacks through the 2025–26 season. I then read some and took a good nap. Neither of us did anything the rest of the afternoon, just hung out in our air-conditioned house.

Saturday Afternoon Shadows

We enjoyed a glass or two of wine on the front porch, as the lake traffic began to pick up since it was such a calm lake and sky. Around 6:00, Evie put together our dinner, a new recipe with fennel, white beans, shrimp, tomatoes, and pancetta. It was not Evie's favorite, but I enjoyed it. We still cannot find anything to watch, so we went back to ER. Even though we have seen it at least three times, we still enjoy it. After Evie went to bed, I watched Quarterback, then read and went to bed.
