It's 8:50 and I slept in until 8:15, a miracle. It's a chilly 14º, overcast with a few ice fishermen out. It will get up into the 20s later in the day but that's about it. I am heading for Melt Yoga in a half hour and looking forward to it.
Yesterday, with most of the Americans and much of the world, we spent the day waiting for 6:30 when the Super Bowl began. So we had to fill our day somehow. It was a typical Sunday, really, because football has dominated our Sundays, like most Americans, since September. We had our coffee, thought about doing something, had another cup of coffee, finished the blog and had breakfast. Since we received a couple inches of snow overnight, I put on my ski boots, grabbed my skis and went skiing for a half hour. Along the shoreline, there's a ridge of ice and when I tried to ski over it, I fell so I pulled off my skies and carried them home. I then shoveled the drive quickly, leaving an inch or two or snow because of the ice beneath the snow, making it safer to walk.

Evie volunteered to make me breakfast, a Turkish omelet with bagels, a favorite. I watched some of the lead up to the Superbowl, which was aired from noon to 6:30, as if it's the most important gathering of the year. By 1:00, I had enough and got back to my book and took a nap. That's how we spent the rest of the afternoon, reading or watching TV until we both showered around 5:00.
We left for Linda and Rons just before 6:00 and were greeted with bloody marys and a great potato and bacon appetizer. The game, unfortunately, was a letdown for Chiefs fans because they were outclassed by the Eagles and the winner was never in doubt except for the first five minutes. We had chips and dips, pigs in a blanket during the first half, and chicken wings for our dinner at half-time. We felt bad for our kids, Tom and Jill and their spouses who are great Chiefs fans. I fear the Chiefs dominance is over, their bubble has burst. We headed home around 10:15, tired and ready for bed.
