Not much of a morning here, a single tent on a white lake, gray sky and 17º. At least we didn't get any snow overnight and the coffee was hot. Evie's sleeping in and skipping school.
Monday was a long day and I am getting bored with winter days, probably because I did little in the afternoon. Evie and I were up around 7:30, had a coffee and waited for 9:00 when the Michael Smerconish show began on Sirius Radio. For some reason, I forgot to have breakfast and realized it only when I was about ready to leave for Melt Yoga at 10:10. So I gulped down some water and went on my way, not really missing it. In the old days, when I taught, I never had breakfast, just waited to eat at lunch. The class tends to be the same people, just six of us which is fine. As I mentioned, it's not rigorous, but it's more like a massage with a four-foot-long rubber tube.
On my way home, I stopped at Walmart and picked up a few things for dinner and spring water for our coffee pot. It's always busy, and the parking lot is full no matter the time of day. When I returned, Evie was not feeling well but still made me a meatloaf sandwich, then went up to bed for a while. I had a bowl of black bean soup with my sandwich and watched my show. Around 2:00, I started a new book, Commencement, which follows the lives of four girls who meet up as freshmen at Smith College. Not my usual kind of read but I am enjoying it. I took a good nap even though I slept well Sunday night. It was a beautiful afternoon and I felt guilty not to take advantage of the sun and blue skies. Around 4:30, however, I decided to get the mail but stretched out and walked for 25 minutes.

Around 5:00, Evie and I listened to the news, and by 6:00, she was prepping our dinner, a chicken dish with cream, spinach, and noodles which she found online. It was great, and we may have enough for tonight. We are still struggling for something to watch so with stuck with another episode of Paradise on Hulu, not a favorite but we are watching it. We then watched some news until I found a new cooking show featuring one of our favorite chefs, Yotam Ottolenghi, an Israeli-British restauranteur. We have one of his cookbooks, Jerusalem. This particular episode was set in various cities in Morocco. It was decent, something to watch before Evie went up to bed and I got back to my series and some basketball.
