Fog Rising On A 53º Morning

Granny's Happy

Kayak Morning
Up at 5:30 and quickly went to the closet and grabbed a fleece.  What a difference a week makes. I just missed a photo of a heron walking along our lake wall.  A few clouds hang over the lake, as the fog rises and moves slowly down the lake to the north. It looks like a deliciously cool day.  Back from breakfast at the Bemus Point Inn, just the three of us, the winter guys.

Yesterday was exhausting but worth it because we picked up Beth and Marisa at the Cleveland Hopkins Airport.  We left for Cleveland, however, at 7:30 in the morning because Evie had an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic at 11:00 for an x-ray, at 12:00 with a back surgeon.  We got to the Clinic, a virtual city within a city, at 10:30, found the parking garage and wound our way up 7 floors before we found a place to park.  We then entered the complex and it was easy to find our way as there are lots of people in red jackets around, happy to help lost souls like us to find our way.  It's amazing how busy this hospital is, as large and complex as it is. Evie got her Xray early, and we then were in a waiting room for the surgeon at noon.  Of course, he arrived an hour late for the appointment, but we liked him.  He's recommending surgery and if we decide that's the way to go Evie will probably have it done in September, hoping it will solve her problem.

After the appointment, we picked Beth and Marisa up at the airport and drove to Chagrin Boulevard and stopped at, where else, Trader Joe's, picking up a couple cases of wine, cheese, chocolate, and other goodies to get us through the next couple of weeks.  We then hit the road for Chautauqua, stopping at Love's Truck Stop on the Ohio border and picked up some burger and fries because I had not eaten since the morning.

Granny, Marisa, And Beth
We were home, finally, at 5:00 and quickly unpacked.  Marisa picked out her bedroom the orange room, and we then relaxed on the dock with a glass of wine, not worrying about dinner.  At 7:00, Evie heated up Marisa's favorite soup, corn chowder and Evie had made a tuna and macaroni salad with hard boiled eggs, perfect light dinner for us.  We then organized the bedrooms, or rather Marisa did, and by the time everything was done, Evie and Marisa watched Bob's Burgers, while Beth and I read some before going up to bed early, tired from the drive and plane ride.

Happy To Be Back At The Lake
