Well, it's already 7:30 and I have the luxury of being the only one up for the past forty-five minutes. It won't last much longer which is fine but still, the solitude of a morning on the lake is delicious.  It was broken up, however, by a fishing boat slipping between our rafts and dock instead of just going around them.  I surprised the heck out of him by walking out and yelling at the arse.  At least he did not try to throw his lures beneath our inflatables.  Evie and the girls are finally up and Rami and I have been setting up my camera.  We also have been having trouble with my router, so I just ordered one on Tom and Rami's recommendation from Amazon, for a cool 300 bucks.  It's a good thing I am retired and wealthy! It's now 10:40, the gang is either at The Fitness Bunker or yoga and Evie, the girls and me are home alone.

Yesterday I woke to a surprise early, as Mitch was up at 6:30 despite getting in at 4:00 AM. Fortunately, all Beth's family were still sleeping in, getting some much needed sleep.  Tom and I went for a brief kayak paddle yesterday morning to start the day, as everyone started to arise except for Marisa, who sleep in till 11:00, a good girl.  Everyone was up and at 'em, on their devices, not worrying about breakfast as long as they had coffee.  Around 10:30, we all started to move and everyone had some kind of breakfast, either cereal or bagels, something like that.  Tom and I got busy by pulling down more inflatable rafts from the garage and it took us a good half hour to inflate them, a couple, however, as I see this morning, have leaks, so they will be going to the  Transfer Station next Saturday.  While we were doing this, a group went to the new fitness center in Lakewood, The Fitness Bunker and got a deal, 20 bucks per person for the week which made them happy. Meanwhile, I hit the Transfer Station, then on to Hogan's Hut to pick up ice and worms, getting ready for a partly cloudy day.

The girls and Evie were in swimming when I returned, enjoying the lake and new inflatables despite the gray sky.  We all had late lunches, sandwiches of our choice but no one much worried about food. Beth and Rami had to return a car to Jamestown, so they left around 2:00 and also did some shopping at Wegman's, Evans Liquor, and Walmart, looking for a game Tyler wanted calling CATAN. Evie was able to really enjoy the afternoon with the grandchildren because dinner was already made, two pans of baked ziti which she had made earlier in the week, a smart cookie.

Grandfather And Grandson
Around 4:00, Tyler, our twenty two-year-old grandson wanted to get a growler from Southern Tier Brewery, so Tom and I went with him, sat outside in the pub, listening to music along with at least a hundred other patrons. We picked up a growler, some ice, and headed home around 5:00.  While we were gone the grandchildren and Evie had some fun games of bean bag, the first time we have gotten the boards out this summer, in between swims.

Kitchen Help

We, fortunately, avoided rain until about 6:00 when we were forced inside to think about dinner.  Evie had already put the ziti in the oven so the gang helped get together the salad and roasted asparagus with parmesan cheese.  It was a busy, often crowded kitchen with helpers.  And it started to rain again around 7:00, so Tom, Nick, Tyler and I had to go for a quick swim, to sharpen our appetites.  We love swimming in the rain when there is no lightning.

A Baked Ziti Dinner
Twelve of us sat down to the table for a great dinner, and we devoured both pans of ziti by the time we got up, as well as the asparagus and salad. Fortunately, we have gotten smart but not environmentally conscious and used paper plates and plastic utensils, so dishes were easy, just throw them in a garbage bag and do up the rest in a few minutes.

French Braiding Before Bed
By 8:30, we were having dessert, strawberry shortcake and the guys were playing a hot game of CATAN and the girls and Evie were back at it, playing Telefunky.  The rest of us talked, were on our devices and Beth showed me her amazing pictures from their week in Taos, New Mexico.  I want to go there and hike and enjoy the mountains.  By 11:00, everyone was finished with the games and tired so all but the boys went up to bed.  I have no idea when they went to bed but I may be able to tell by the time they get up this morning.  I know a group wants to workout early at The Fitness Bunker so they better start getting up as it's already 8:00 and only Mary is up.
